The Lamborghini Gallardo is a sports car built by Lamborghini. The Gallardo is Lamborghini's most-produced model to date, with over 10,000 built in its first seven years of production. The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull.

The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional (H-Box) six-speed manual transmission, and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic robotized manual, which Lamborghini abbreviates to "E-gear". The "E-gear" allows the driver to make shifts much faster than a manual transmission would. The driver shifts up and down via paddles behind the steering wheel, but can also change into automatic mode.

For the MY2006 (launched in late 2005) Lamborghini introduced many changes to the car to counter some criticisms garnered from the press and owners. These were derived from the limited edition Gallardo SE. The exhaust system was changed to a more sporty one (including a flap to make it quieter around town), the suspension was revised and a new steering rack was fitted, the engine power was increased by 20 bhp to a maximum of 512 brake horsepower (382 kW), the biggest change was an overall lowering of the gearing especially in 1st to 5th. The result was a much improved car; it handled and turned better, sounded better under full throttle and the extra power and lower gearing turned an already fast car into a seriously quick one.

The Audi R8 sports car, launched in early 2007, is based on the Gallardo platform, and uses a 4.2 litre V8 in place of the Gallardo's V10 to avoid competing directly with the Gallardo. In December 2008, Audi unveiled a V10 Audi R8, with a detuned version of the Gallardo's engine, placed between the R8 V8 and the Gallardo.

For the 2008 model year, features added to the Gallardo included an onboard computer, iPod connectivity with USB, heated mirrors, Q-citura stitching that originally could only be found on the Nera model, and a beige soft-top on the Spyder.

Because hybrids can be virtually noiseless when idling and low speeds, pedestrians are often vulnerable to the hybrids if they are not aware they are on the road. Lexus has stepped ahead of the times, and installed an audible pedestrian warning system in each of their hybrid vehicles.

Under the Hood
Under the hood, consumers will find an impressive combination of an Atkinson cycle 1.8 liter four cylinder with Prius powertrain with an 80 horse power electric motor.

Consumers will discover four driving modes on the CTs hybrid system which include the Sport, Normal, Eco and Ev. The Sport mode is calibrated towards performance and handling. The Eco mode is the mode where the driver will gain the best fuel economy. CVT comes into play in Normal mode, which allows the vehicle to respond to the change in conditions while driving. The EV mode allows electric powered driving for up to one mile.

Exterior and Interior
Lexus hatchback style is definitely new, and it is a looker. The compact is a five door hatchback and is stylish. The roof, slightly raked, sharp contour lines in the front, recessed fog lights, and a sculpted hood. Inside, the consumer will find a stylish interior that spells Lexus.

Overall, the Lexus CT200H is a sporty compact hybrid that is nice to handle, performs well, and definitely has the class and luxury of Lexus. Consumers will find a hybrid with good fuel economy and definitely one that provides the comfort and looks on the road that makes being behind the wheel, a luxury in itself. AUSCAR (Australian Stock Car Auto Racing) was an auto racing sanctioning body owned by Bob Jane, which ran American-style Superspeedway racing in Australia. The initial AUSCAR venue was the Calder Park Thunderdome Superspeedway, but over time the series expanded to include the Bob Jane owned 1/2 mile Speedway Superbowl at the eastern end of Adelaide International Raceway, the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, and eventually several Australian road racing circuits. Three categories of racing car were developed to run on the Australian circuits.

* NASCAR: imported and locally developed versions of the American race cars
* AUSCAR: down spec-ed cars, closer to production specification, initially just the Holden Commodore, but quickly expanded to include the Ford Falcon
* Sportsman: lower specification again, cheaper to buy or build and older cars, and some former AUSCARs

Other categories, such as the HQ's, a category based around the Holden HQ Kingswood powered by the 3.3L Holden red motor, were also popular at the Calder Park Thunderdome. Another category was based on the American dirt track category known as Legends (unrelated to Aussie Racing Cars), since disappeared from circuit racing. And Formula Vee open wheelers raced briefly on the Thunderdome apron.

AUSCAR was also the name used for the second tier racing category that raced alongside the Australian NASCAR stock car racing series, starting in 1986 and continuing until 2001. The cars were not pure space frame chassis like NASCAR, but were built on Australian Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon road car chassis. As a result, AUSCARs are right-hand-drive, and race clockwise at ovals, compared to the left-hand-drive anticlockwise NASCAR vehicles. Brad Jones dominated the category winning five consecutive titles during the peak of the series popularity, all in Commodore's. Other notable drivers include: Marshall J. Brewer, Terry Wyhoon, Russell Ingall, John Faulkner, Jim Richards, Steven Richards, Adam Pay, Nathan Pretty, Nicole Pretty and Leigh Watkins (who was the only driver to win the championship in a Ford Falcon). Even Australian touring car legend Peter Brock briefly tried AUSCAR in 1988 driving a Falcon and again at his testimonial race meeting (held on the Calder Park road circuit) in 1995 driving a Commodore.

Due to the returning popularity of the Australian Touring Car Championship, relaunched as V8 Supercars in 1997, and financial difficulties, AUSCAR was shut down and the drivers dispersed into other national racing series.
